The healthcare sector in Singapore is under increasing pressure due to the aging population and the rising burden of chronic diseases. In response to these challenges, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced a reorganisation of the health cluster system in January 2017, leading to the development of a Next-Gen Electronic Medical Records (NGEMR) system.
The objective was to modernise the healthcare organisation’s existing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to facilitate a more patient-centric approach to healthcare delivery and provide a more secure access to patient data centrally.
AsiaPac collaborated with leading technology partners to design and implement a robust infrastructure to support the organisation’s NGEMR system. The solution was carefully engineered with scalability in mind, allowing it to handle increasing data volumes as the patient population grows.
As such, enterprise-grade storage platforms were selected for their performance and reliability to ensure 100% data availability and security. Backup solutions were also implemented to protect patient data and ensure recovery in case of disruptions.
